In September 2016, Rob Atkins (Wellington, NZ) and Andro Mathewson (US/Scotland) met at the University of Otago in New Zealand.

 

They founded Acrillics with the goal of producing electronic music that combines multiple genres with their cross-cultural backgrounds to create a unique sound without the constraints of one musical category.

 

Since their origin, Acrillics have gone on to release tracks on Anjunadeep, Mad Zoo, Tribal Trap, Electric Hawk, and Noiseporn. They have headlined shows and performed at venues across the world and opened for artists such as Mat Zo, GTA, Josh Pan, Louie Lastic, AFK, Svdden Death, and Shaun Frank. They have been notably supported by Alison Wonderland, Dillon Francis, and Liquid Stranger.
